Good morning Friends,
This Note from the Universe popped up like a daffodil on my calendar this morning and I thought its message was important to share…
Here is today’s Everyday Gratitude Quote in the Middle of a Pandemic:
“When it comes to the words you choose, whether in your mind or among friends, let them be of what you like and love.
What you care about and cherish.
What makes you happy.
What gives you wings.
What makes you dream.
And very little else.” — the Universe
Practicing control of our the words we choose to speak (or not speak), both to ourselves and to others, can make a world of difference for us.
This is the Mussar middah of Shtikah (silence) or Shmirat HaLashon (mindful speech). [As an extrovert, choosing not to speak is a tough one for me…definitely high on my “spiritual curriculum” and I hope that these gratitude posts have not/will not cross the line and become things “better left unsaid”!] As I practice both silence and mindful speech, I become ever more aware of the power of both our silence and our speech that this message from the Universe drives home. Words of love, of positivity, of joy, of caring, of encouragement, of possibility, both for ourselves and for others, have immense power…as do their opposite.
So, as Shabbat approaches, and in this time of the Counting of the Omer, I hope that we can all take to heart this sage advice from the Universe and be mindfully generous with our words of love, positivity, joy, caring, encouragement and possibility…and think and speak of “very little else”!
Shabbat Shalom and Chag Sameach to all,
Marci
