On Wednesdays, join Hazzan Harold for a Meditative Walk in the Woodlands (weather permitting).

Friday Night/Kabbalat Shabbat: Informal, casual, spirited and soulful.
Friday Evening beginning at 6:00 pm

Musical Kabbalat Shabbat Services
6:00 pm

Our Musical Kabbalat Shabbat service offers a contemplative and uplifting prayer with melodies and niggunim set to acoustic music. The Maariv or evening service that follows blends traditional nusach with contemporary melodies. Come as you are. Jeans and sneakers are as common as suits and ties.

Introducing our Quiet Family Play Area!

Here at Beth Am Israel, we believe that playing is praying!  We are so thrilled to have created a Quiet Play Space for infants and toddlers and their humans!  This space is designed to allow our youngest congregants and guests to be occupied creatively and quietly, while allowing the grown ups to still feel part of the service.  We ask that children be supervised at all times by at least one parent, and that you put the toys and books back where they were when you arrived in the space. Note that this creative, quiet, play space is meant for young, pre-school age children.  On Shabbat, older children are invited to join our Shorashim Shabbat Program.  Everyone is also invited to participate in our Tot Shabbat Service, led by Cantor Jenn.

Shabbat Morning Offerings
Shabbat (Saturday) beginning at 9:00 am

Each week begins with two offerings,  lively and interactive Torah study with Rabbi David or an extended and enhanced prayer with Hazzan Harold we call Tefilah B’Kavanah (Prayer with intention).

Torah Study
9:00 am

Rabbi David offers Torah Study from 9am-9:45am and then leads a traditional, non-instrumental Pesukei Dzimrah service in our Sanctuary. This offering is on Zoom only.

Tefilah B’Kavanah (Prayer with intention)
9:00 am

Led by Hazzan Harold, this is our weekly Shabbat morning offering of intentional musical prayer, with spirited song, chant and meditation. Our aim is to allow for deep, uninterrupted, joyful and focused tefilah.

Shabbat Morning Service
9:45 am

Blends traditional prayer modes with contemporary melodies and niggunim (wordless melodies) and features acoustic music in the early part of the service and a more traditional approach in the later parts of our prayer.  This is a time for our whole community to come together each week.  Typically followed by Kiddush.

Shorashim Shabbat
10:30 am

Each Shabbat we have learning for kids in grades K-6. We encourage everyone to come out and enjoy Shabbat together!

Once a month we feature a Shabbat that we call Shabbat B’Yachad (Together). We will gather as a whole community to celebrate one aspect of Shabbat together. Throughout the year, we’ve selected Friday nights, Shabbat mornings and Saturday nights to give you and your family different ways to experience Shorashim as a Shabbat community.

Tot Shabbat
11:00 am

Tot Shabbat is a Shabbat experience for families with children ages 0-5, every Shabbat morning from 11a-12p. Come sing along to Shabbat songs, learn about the parsha of the week, and connect with other families with young children. A short Kiddush and social time will follow the interactive service, then stay and join the larger BAI community for the Kiddush at noon!
