Hello and Shabbat Shalom, BAI!

It’s been quite a dizzying week. Shabbat is here regardless and I’ve got two new Kabbalat Shabbat related music video recordings to share with everyone.
Caroline Freiwald and I knocked these out a few weeks ago. The first tune is set to the words of “Lecha Dodi”, and we call it the ‘Pura Vida’ melody since it popped in my head fully formed on a trip to Costa Rica. ???? Listen here.

The second tune is a mashup of “Mikolot Mayim Rabim (composed by Jessi Roemer) and U2’s, “One Tree Hill”. U2 have always had a deeply spiritual and even Biblical aspect to their music, so it wasn’t so surprising to find a connection between the Psalms and this amazing tune from “The Joshua Tree.” ???? Listen here.

With unending gratitude to Caroline who has been co-leading our services since she was 11 and is soon- this fall – to depart for College in Canada. (A proper, “L’hitraot” is forthcoming.)

Praying for lasting calm in Israel, in America and throughout the world.

Shabbat Shalom,
Hazzan Harold
