Chaverim —
With the Phillies leading the NL East, I want to take a moment to thank a few members of Beth Am’s own All-Star line-up. As I do each month, it’s my honor to extend the thanks of our grateful congregation to everyone who helped make July another Major League success for our entire community.
With advance apologies to anyone I’ve inadvertently omitted from the list, heartfelt thank yous go out to so many of our community members, including:
- Our new Board members — Mooli Eisenbach, Ken Koltun-Fromm, Leslie Lieberman, Melanie Marein-Efron, Lisa Pliskin, Debbie Sasson, Sam Wojnilower, Judy Wortman — who attended Board orientation on July 11 and have started their first year of service. We’re grateful for their willingness to step up and help guide our community in fulfilling the vision of our strategic plan.
- All the young Beth Am’ers who came out to on July 11 for “Pizza & a Movie,” on July 17 for Challah Baking, on July 21 for our Family Shabbat and on August 1 for our JCC Pool Party and Pajamarama. Special thanks to all our professionals, including our “new Sarah” (Lefkowitz), for keeping our early childhood programming going throughout the summer.
- All the learners who joined Rabbi David’s July presentations on “Welcoming Pirkei Avot Lev Shalem“
- The many volunteer prayer leaders, readers and teachers who’ve made our Shabbatot so rich this month, including Rob Jacobson, Donna Kirschner, Sheila Bassman, Julian Bassman, Ken Koltun-Fromm, Shelley White, Adam Wishkovsky, Sam Rosen, Roy Goldman, Myron Bassman, Ruth Anolik, Kevin Werbach, Ray Solomon and Harriet Katz.
Daily thanks go to Rabbi David, Hazzan Harold, Leo Fuhrman, Grace Gershkoff, Jessica Glickman, Sara Chernov and Deon Sloane for all they do to support us, teach us, inspire us and help our community run safely and smoothly.
On behalf of the Board of Directors, I also extend thanks to each and every member and participant in the Beth Am community for being present, for giving of yourselves and for continuing to help us build meaningful Jewish lives together.
With gratitude and wishing you all a Shabbat Shalom —
Andrea
