Hi Beth Am friends,

As part of our gun violence prevention efforts, BAI members have supported the Anti-Violence Partnership of Philadelphia (AVP) in its care and services for victims and their families. Both the Sunday Minyan and individual members have made generous financial donations; and BAI has participated in drives for bike helmets, school supplies, and holiday gifts. BAI members recently baked and created snack bags for students participating in groups run by AVP for in-school trauma therapy.

Gaby Lipkin, longtime BAI member, works at AVP as an adult therapist. In this position, she works with adults who have been victims of crime or who have witnessed community violence. Gaby is a constant support of all of our efforts and introduced us to Souls Shot Portrait Project and AVP. She organized the school supply and bike helmet drive, and helps get the word out about everything we do.

In response Natasha Danielá de Lima McGlynn, MPA Executive Director of AVP wrote, “… we are deeply grateful for, and humbled by, the immense and continuous support Beth Am Israel has provided to our organization and our clients. Thank you, truly, from all of us.”

We’re lucky and proud to have such a concerned, active community. We hope to see you at some (or all) of the events below.

With gratitude from your CeaseFirePA liaisons,
Tali Perlman
Corinne Hackman
Elisa Abeloff
