Souls Shot Portrait Project: Portraits of Victims of Gun Violence
This year’s edition of Souls Shot Portrait Project: Portraits of Victims of Gun Violence is back at Beth Am Israel.
This project links fine artists with families or friends of victims of gun violence. The artists meet with the victims’ loved ones to learn about the lives they lived.
Our goal is to present diverse works that in some way relay graphically, or through narrative, the essence of the person being portrayed. The exhibition will open for visitors beginning Tuesday, March 26 and running through Wednesday, May 1.
Gallery Hours: Tues-Thurs 9a-5p, Fri 9a-3p, Sat closed, Sun and Mon by appointment only. Gallery will be closed April 22-24 and April 29-30.
Join us on Thursday, April 4 at 7 pm for a reception and program featuring 2024 Souls Shot Portrait Project participants Cathleen Cohen – a poet, painter and teacher, and Patricia A. Griffin, MHS, Ed.D – a mother, therapist, and Violence Prevention Facilitator with Mothers in Charge.
