Two options to help you celebrate Sukkot in your home –
Sukkah Building Workshop:
Learn to build a Sukkah (the ritual harvest booth used on the holiday of Sukkot) with Rabbi David. It’s much easier than you imagine.
Sustainable Lulav and Etrog workshop
For a typical Sukkot, the US imports 500,000 lulavim from Israel and Egypt, causing upwards of 160 metric tons of pollution. Is there a way we can shake the lulav and celebrate Sukkot- a holiday about rejoicing in the fall harvest and causing the trees to “sing with joy”- more sustainably? Join Cantor Jenn to explore what the Torah teaches about what species we can use for our lulav and etrog and then craft our own from species found in Pennsylvania. Come reimagine this Sukkot practice in a way that is responsible to the natural world around us and roots us in the land we inhabit.
