Jessica Steinberg: Israeli Resilience during Dark Days

Monday, January 29, 2024
7:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Jessica Steinberg discusses how Israelis try to find a sense of normalcy during recent weeks, launching tremendous volunteer efforts to help evacuees, track those missing, even sewing items on reservists’ combat vests.

About Jessica Steinberg:
Jessica Steinberg is the long-time arts and culture editor for The Times of Israel, who pivoted to coverage of the hostages taken captive to Gaza during the Hamas terrorist attacks of October 7, speaking to their families, those who have been released, covering their stories in articles and the Daily Briefing podcasts.

A former New Yorker, she has been living in Israel for the last 28 years, reporting on the conflict and situation in Israel, focusing on how Israeli society pivots and handles war, in art, music, TV and film, culinary arts and design.

Jessica lives in Jerusalem with her husband and twin teenage sons, and has also delved into children’s book writing. Her first book was “Not This Turkey,” which became a PJ Library selection, and she is currently working on a series about kids at a Jewish summer camp.
