Good afternoon, Chaverim,

As the pandemic and its impacts roll on, this quote seemed to be and important reminder worth sharing today…

Here is today’s Gratitude Thought in the Middle of a Pandemic:

“I try to remind myself that we are never promised anything, and that what control we can exert is not over the events that befall us, but how we address ourselves to them.”

Jeanne Duprau

This pandemic has come with many challenges to be sure, but also many lessons…and, if you are in the right frame of mind, you might even choose to see those lessons as blessings.  That there is so much beyond our control seems to me to be one of the important lessons we have learned these past two years.  And, though this may not be the most pleasant of lessons…especially when the pandemic insists on reminding us daily!…this lesson is one for which I am grateful.  A daily reminder that, while we surely cannot control everything, we ARE in charge of how we react, or “address ourselves”, to our circumstances is a blessing.  Some days it takes a lot of work to bring a grateful attitude to the “events that befall us”, but I think the effort is important, critical work that allows us to live lives of service and meaning and joy.

Shabbat Shalom to all,
Marci
