Good afternoon, Chaverim,
Another perfect quote for a week of seemingly “normal” (whatever that means!) days that just flew by…
Here is today’s Gratitude Thought in the Middle of a Pandemic:
“Normal day, let me be aware of the treasure you are.
Let me learn from you, love you, savor you, bless you before you depart.
Let me not pass you by in quest of some rare and perfect tomorrow.”
Mary Jane Irion
It is so easy to take our days for granted, even to wish them away, as we rush through them in our efforts to be efficient and productive or in the misguided “quest” for that “perfect tomorrow”. I think on some level we all know that this very “normal” day may be all we get…that we may not get a tomorrow at all and that, even if we are blessed to have many more tomorrows, we surely cannot count on them to be “rare” or “perfect”. This is often not a “truth” think about as it is for many something frightening about which we would rather not think at all.
But, how much richer would our lives be if we could really slow down enough, be present enough, to “learn from”, “love”, “savor” and “bless” each and every one of our precious days…to really BE in our lives, with full acceptance, appreciation and gratitude for their sheer “normalcy”? What would it take for you/me to live your/my life this way??? Might be worth some serious thought, huh?
I hope that you treasure each remaining moment of this perfectly amazing “normal” day and wish you all Shabbat Shalom,
Marci
