Israel at the Bar: An Update on the Proceedings at the International Criminal Court (ICC) and the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
Amidst dramatic developments in the Middle East, Israel has been embroiled in high-profile cases before international tribunals. BAI member, Jeff Dunoff, will discuss recent developments at the ICC, where arrest warrants were recently issued for Prime Minister Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Gallant, and the ICJ, which recently issued a landmark opinion on the legality of Israel’s policies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem and is considering South Africa’s allegations of genocide.
Jeff is a chaired professor at Temple Law School; has taught at Harvard, Princeton, Cambridge, the Sorbonne, and Hebrew University; and has published widely on the legitimacy of international courts and the politics of international law.
