Tikkun Leil Shavuot: Music and Prayer Deep into the Night in-person at BAI
Shavout is both a harvest holiday, bringing of the first fruits to the ancient Temple in Jerusalem, and also the holiday where Torah is given to the Jewish People at Sinai.
There is an ancient practice of staying up all night studying is called a Tikkun (meaning, ‘repair’). This all-nighter is meant to ‘purify’ and ready us spiritually for reenacting the moment of Revelation and receiving the Torah.
At BAI, we take this in a musical, prayerful direction with an “Deep Into the Night” experience that will encompass improvisational music making, a bit of campfire singalong, and a weaving of prayers both organic and known.
Dairy desserts including Cheesecake and ice cream as well as coffee, will be served throughout the night. We will go as late as we want to!
