Good morning, Chaverim/Chaverot,
This one is a reminder of the importance of practicing and cultivating gratitude…
Here is today’s Gratitude Thought in the Midst of a (Waning? Forgotten?) Pandemic:
“There is a calmness to a life lived in gratitude, a quiet joy.”
Ralph H. Blum
We are living in an increasingly crazy world, a world that is anything but calm. Couldn’t we all use a little more “calmness” and “quiet joy” in our lives? Mr. Blum offers us the way…filling our lives with gratitude. The connection between gratitude and joy felt quite obvious to me, but the same connection of gratitude to “calmness” was less obvious and a bit more challenging. But, as I thought more about why and how gratefulness generates calmness in our lives, it became clear that gratitude for what is, for the blessings that we already have, can obviate the need to be constantly chasing “bigger/faster/better/more” and allow us to find room to breathe, room to reconnect with ourselves, room to sense the wonder of our lives, room for quiet joy, room for…calm.
Shabbat Shalom to all,
Marci
