A BAI tradition is coming back to a table near you – BAISTRO—what you get when you cross BAI and Bistro and add good cheer!
A number of families volunteer to host dinners in their homes on a designated Saturday evening or brunch on a designated Sunday. Other BAI members (that means the rest of you!) sign up to be guests. Guests will be assigned to their hosts the week before the event (based on guests’ dietary preferences, hosts’ seating capacities, and our desire to “mix it up” a bit). As for Kashrut, hosts who maintain a kosher home may serve whatever they’d like; hosts with non-kosher homes are asked to serve parve or dairy meals.
The result is a yummy and fun gathering in which congregants spend time with established friends and also get the special opportunity to mingle with folks they might not know. In short, it proves to be a great and meaningful community-builder as well as a fund-raiser for BAI.
