The Sounds of Beth Am Israel
A Resource for Tefilah and the SpiritBruchim Habaim and welcome to the "Sounds of Beth Am", a resource for becoming familiar with the words and music of many of prayers you will find in our Tefilot at Beth Am Israel. These tracks which can be downloaded and/or played straight from the web represent melodies that have become Beth Am 'standards', a host of tunes that we have introduced over the past year and finally some tunes that are new and will be "rolled out" in the weeks and months to come.
Our aim is to give everyone in our community the chance to participate fully and with confidence and we hope this resource will make it easier (and more fun!) to connect to our services.
This project represents another phase in bringing our community together through music. Our Music Engagement Grant has given us the opportunity to grow and expand the music resources we have and to create meaningful entry points for people to join in prayer and song. In the spring we will be bringing many different groups from the Beth Am Community together to record a more polished and more professional sounding 'musical snapshot' of the different voices of Beth Am including our musical guides and choir, our young children, our teens and others. More details about this project will be announced soon.
Many thanks to Shelly Barnathan for adding her voice to several of the tracks and for her inspiring work as leader of Melody and Meaning.
Enjoy!
-Harold
